Yeah this conversation was a good one on Sa...Wow!!! Yeah this conversation was a good one on Saturday. To me work has never been my priority. For me I believe, because I became a mother at such a young age, I wanted to first be a good mother (whatever semblance of what I thought a good mother was at the time). Job/Career/Work was just that and income of a means to an end. In some ways that's unfortunate, because in the end I never really set out to follow my most beloved goals. I allowed Motherhood to be my driving force. I'm the mom that wants to make all the recitals, see all the games, take trips with my girls, meet with all the teachers, be home when they were sick...etc. It's what mothering meant to me. But as with all things, something will not get your full attention. I tried to have it all at some point, I had a full family, a decent job, etc. But in the end, reaching my lifelong dreams suffered. I am now reaching the end of my soccer mom lifestyle, my baby is going to High School which means in 4 years, there will be just me, to make new goals and re-evaluate where I want to be in life.

Much like the woman in the article, our life brings us situations and from the situations we get to make lifelong choices that affect us, and along the way we give up things that at some point we get to re-evaluate the new importance of that "thing" in our lives. I know as I've gotten older, that work will never be my #1 priority. I will however start to live my dreams, but on my terms, not anyone else's. My priorities will be #1 God, #2 Self (spouse if that comes into play), #3 Children (grandchildren, as that will happen along the way) #4 Family (immediate) #5 Work, etc...

This is because life is so much more than money and working endless hours, now if only I can get my boss to understand my logic I'd be a-ok.Frankiegurlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03033207989210583433noreply@blogger.com
